After spending time in her teenage years working with horses and camels in Spain and Austria, Shelley returned to the UK to train as a saddle maker.
Once she gained her Level 3 City & Guilds Diploma in Saddle, Harness and Bridle making she went on to specialise in saddlery and leatherwork for the film industry, a path that she recognised would suit her creative flare.
Since she started working in the industry in 2015, Shelley has since worked on over 30 large feature films such as Ridley Scott's 'Napoleon', Rings of Power, Wonder Woman 1984 and Star Wars: Rise of the Skywalker.
Shelley has worked at HOD (head of dept.) level on Ridley Scott's most recent production, managing a team of 20 talented saddlers and leatherworkers along with outsourcing work to a network of saddlers across the UK. With a keen eye for detail and design, she also turns her hand to design, concept art along with sculpting, metalwork, woodwork and painting.
In 2021, Shelley founder her limited company, Battle Horse Ltd to meet demands for specialist saddlery and leatherwork in the film industry.
